Language acquisition in ASL (American Sign Language) documentation is one of my largest works. This project documented detailed milestones of language acquistition and language development in ASL from birth to age five. Blog posts (draft) selected from a huge data are posted on my website at www.handspeak.com/kid/ .
This time-lapse video above is a snapshot of phonological acquisition of my bilingual child from cooing to articulating in American Sign Language (ASL). My child has been exposed to ASL 24/7 from birth to preschooler in a native ASL signing environment (in other word, Deaf family members and relatives as well as Deaf/ASL community).
